Once Upon a Mattress

Not 1 million drama classes and workshops could teach me what I was able to learn from Once Upon a Mattress. It was one of the most grueling, tough and mentally challenging things I have done in my life. I learned plenty about singing and how the voice works and got to sing my solo, a love song about a girl named Fred. I also needed to do a little dancing and was even got thrown around by a girl. It was interesting trying to develop my character and "not being Afnan, and more Dauntless."
I played lead as a prince trying to convince her mother to let him marry his princess.
On show night, I was so excited and I actually felt confident about my abilities. I was a little nervous about my high notes in my song but I think I had the acting down. I was able to play my role effectively and my voice boomed across the room. It was a goddamn good day.

Mr. Narrator and Director
Another thing everyone who I've ever worked with in my grade knows me for is my love for being the narrator. In every drama class play, I have been the narrator and showed what is happening throughout the story. I like speaking without needing to convey too much with my body, my dialogue is very strong yet I'm always a bit unsure what to do with my body.
Also, I tend to take a leadership role very easily and everyone automatically looks up to me for what to do. I like being the leader, it makes me feel important. But if anyone else is given the role of the leader, I won't interfere.
I like drama. It's quite interesting, especially musical drama as of the beauty it conveys. Les Miserables is my favorite. What a genius story-line it has. The metaphors that each character represents, the building of ideas, and the grande songs all add to the greatness.
So, these are my thoughts on drama. If you want to know more, here's my Pinterest boards (just click the boards that start with Theatre).
